Stand UP and LIVE

From Delillo's White Noise

""I believe, Jack, there are two kinds of people in the world. Killers and diers. Most of us are diers. We don't have the disposition, the rage or whatever it takes to be a killer. We let death happen. We lie down and die. But think what it's like to be a killer. Think how exciting it is, in theory, to kill a person in direct confrontation. If he dies, you cannot. To kill him is to gain life credit. The more people you kill, the more credit you store up. It explains any number of massacres, wars, executions."

We can learn something from Delillo's character Murray Jay Siskind. However I must first say this, killing people WILL NOT help you live forever. Causing others to die is wrong. You will get caught and then live forever in jail.

He is right about a few things though. "Most of us are diers." Yes most of us are diers. Over 90% of living people are diers. Just look in the obituaries. They are dropping like flies. The problem is just as Delillo says "We let death happen. We lie down and die."

Well no more. From now on we will not lay down and die. We will not let death happen. We will "Stand Up and LIVE"

And yes, you must be a killer. You must kill death. To quote Delillo again "If he dies, you cannot. To kill him is to gain life credit."

It's true. If death dies, you cannot. That is one of our goals. We will kill death so that we cannot die.
